The European Commission (EC) is discussing the possibility of signing an agreement between the EU and the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) on December 5 in Brazil. This was reported by Politico European edition, citing sources.
"On December 5, the signing of the agreement in Brazil would be a very logical and timely step," said an anonymous EU official.
It is noted that the ambassadors of the Cooperation Countries can discuss the agreement on December 3. The signing, as expected, will take place during a meeting between EU representatives and heads of South American countries in December. The official stressed that this is a preliminary program, and the terms can be changed.
