People who have no sexual experience, on average, have a higher level of intellect. This conclusion was reached by researchers at the University of Amsterdam after almost 400,000 British and more than 13,000 Australians. The study was published in the "National Academy of Sciences" magazine (PNAs).
The genetic analysis has shown that about 15% of the differences between sexual experience are explained by heredity. Moreover, genes related to mental abilities and academic success often coincided with sexual inactivity genes.
Scientists emphasize that this is not a single "regrettability gene", but multiple small influences. Together, these effects create a trend. Smarter people are more likely to be sexually inexperienced, or because of the difficulties of the relationship.
At the same time, sexually inexperienced men were more inclined to have lower physical strength, and both sexes have reported only about feelings of social isolation. At the same time, these individuals were less inclined to abuse alcohol and drugs.
"Our results confirm stereotype. Intellectually, successful, but socially less confident individuals are more likely to be sexually inexperienced, "the authors said.
