Japan has called on Russia

Japan and Russia must continue non-governmental exchanges, despite the deterioration of relations between their governments, according to the "Sankun Shimbun" newspaper, said the "Nippon" Foundation's Honorary President Joey Sasakawa.

"Japan and Russia are neighbors, for which it is important to continue non-governmental exchanges in the fields of education, culture and art, even in the government's deterioration of Russian-Japanese relations," said Sasakavan during a news conference in Moscow.

In his opinion, the conflicts between the two countries cannot last forever, and it is necessary to maintain cooperation.
