The United States will spend $ 1.5 billion on the construction of a uranium enrichment plant

The US Department of Energy's National Nuclear Safety (NNSA) has award $ 1.5 billion to the licensing, construction and operation of the experimental service of the Local Uranium Enrichment Enrichment (Duece) for the defense purposes.

"The work on the pilot station will be carried out within the framework of an indefinite supply of 1.5 billion dollars, uncertain quantity (IDIQ), using individual orders," NNSA said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the aim of the Duece station is to demonstrate the main technological steps to ensure a reliable internal source of an enriched uranium enriched uranium for defense needs.

The station will produce low enriched uranium tritium production, as well as high enriched uranium for nuclear power plants of US Navy.
