The Chief Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has approved the membership of the Maldives to the organization as a member state, the agency's statement said.
"The main conference of the IAEA confirmed the Maldives as a new Member State of the IAEA. After the announcement in Geneva, Salma Rashid made a speech at the UN General Assembly at the UN Conference of the Maldives. Congratulations and welcomes the Maldives in the IAEA family, "the agency reported on its official social networking page.
According to the Maldives, the total number of member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reached 181.
