The US Department of Defense is conducting an additional depth investigate the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan during the organization of former President Joe Biden's administration, Pentagon's head Pitt Hegset said on Monday.
"As for the events in Afghanistan, the soldiers must answer for what happened. Consequently, on the instructions of the President, we immediately launched an investigation, which showed the need for a deeper investigation.
He added that during the investigation, the US military intends to access all the necessary documents, to get the explanations of the reasons for the decisions made during the withdrawal of troops, as well as clarify the circumstances of the US troops.
