Norway has presented its first national strategy for radiation and nuclear security, the main goal of which is the protection of health and environment, the government said.

According to Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Bardan Aseh, the radiation and nuclear security is especially important in terms of growth of global tensions. According to the press, the strategy was developed in 2019 after the International Nuclear Energy Agency (IAEA) revised the country's nuclear security.
"Within the framework of the new national strategy, Norway is obliged to maintain a high level of radiation defense and nuclear security to protect human health and the environment from the negative consequences of radiation," the publication said.
