Vessel movement through the Istanbul Strait is suspended due to a cargo ship accident

ISTANBUL
The movement of ships through the Istanbul Strait was temporarily suspended in both directions due to the breakdown of a bulk carrier. The Turkish Coast Guard reported this on its social networks.
The 106-meter long bulk carrier B LINE, en route from Israel to Bulgaria, received mechanical damage in the area of Cape Akintyburnu.  The tug KURTARMA-5 was immediately dispatched to assist the vessel. In connection with the incident, a decision was made to temporarily stop the movement of all vessels through the strait.
