The work on the vaccination process against chickenpox continues according to planned. 1900 children have already been vaccinated throughout the country.

In a conversation with "Armenpress", Svetlana Grigoryan, head of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Diseases and Manageable Diseases, said that the vaccine was quite expected by the public. The process is under planning and without any extraordinary cases.

According to the specialist, the vaccinations started on January 31 2025.

Children born after November 1, 2023, are subject to vaccination. Since 2027, these children have received their second dose since 2027. The two doses are enough to protect it from chickenpox in life. Grigoryan noted that 2363 cases of chickenpox were registered in Armenia in January 2025, and in 2024 there were 22 thousand 11 cases.
