Kyodo: China's foreign minister may visit Japan for the first time since 2020 in February

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi may visit Japan in February 2025. This is reported by the Kyodo agency. This will be the first visit of a Chinese foreign minister to Japan since November 2020.

The agreement regarding the visit was reached at the meeting with his Japanese counterpart Takeshi Iwaya in Beijing on December 25. Afterwards, the Japanese Foreign Ministry announced that "Wang Ying will visit Japan as soon as possible next year."

A high-level economic dialogue event is also expected to take place during Wang Yi's visit.
In recent months, China and Japan have drawn a direction for the stabilization of bilateral relations.
