The member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) are increasing cooperation in the fight against terrorism, crime and drug trafficking. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this on December 25 at the unofficial summit of the CIS in St. Petersburg, reportsregnum.
"The countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States are increasing cooperation in the fight against extremism, cross-border crime and illegal drug trafficking," he said, noting that ties have been established between law enforcement agencies.
Putin also expressed confidence that the CIS countries will continue to cooperate in strengthening security.
