Taiwan's armed forces have registered three Chinese planes and six ships approaching the island. This was reported by Taiwan's Ministry of Defense in X. "Three PLA aircraft and six PLA ships operating in the vicinity of Taiwan were detected this morning before 01:00," TASS said.
The agency notes that the island's armed forces are monitoring the situation and "responding accordingly".
Taiwan has been governed by its own administration since 1949, when the remnants of the Kuomintang forces led by Chiang Kai-shek (1887-1975) fled there after losing the Chinese Civil War.
Beijing considers Taiwan one of the provinces of the People's Republic of China.
