Hürriyet. Turkey and Syria may carry out military operations against the PKK

Turkey may carry out joint military operations with the new Syrian authorities against the forces of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK, recognized as a terrorist by Ankara) in the north of the Arab country, if the Kurdish militants do not lay down their arms. This is reported by the pro-government Hürriyet newspaper.

The Turkish authorities have developed a road map for Syria, which is focused on the reconstruction of the country. Their priority task is the disarmament and liquidation of the PKK and its local branch, the People's Self-Defense Forces (SNS), writes newspaper columnist Abdulkadir Selvi.

"After the formation of the transitional government, the Syrian authorities will call on terrorist groups, particularly the PKK-SNA and IS, to lay down their arms and join the Syrian regime.

If the PKK-SNA responds negatively to this call, the Syrian army and the Turkish armed forces will conduct joint military operations against them in order to remove them from the territories controlled by the group," the journalist claims.
