I have already submitted an application to the Speaker of the National Assembly to resign my mandate, which can be approved after 7 days. If we manage, most likely, the decision to appoint me as governor of Shirak will be made at the cabinet meeting on Thursday.
CP faction deputy Davit Arushanyan said this in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly.
When asked what the prime minister was dissatisfied with the former governor of the region, Mushegh Muradyan, he answered:
"Mr. Muradyan left according to his request. The Prime Minister said at the government meeting that he likes Muradyan according to his request. I cannot say what he was dissatisfied with, what problems there were."
He emphasized that Mr. Muradyan's application became decisive. "If he had not written an application, nothing would have been decided.
But after writing the application, it became a reason to nominate me. Perhaps the primary elections in Gyumri became a reason," Arushanyan said.
