In the morning, the Rescue Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, referring to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Ossetia, informed that the Stepantsminda-Lars highway was closed for trucks.
MediaHubcontacted RA customs attaché Vahan Hakobyan in Verin Lars to find out what the situation is at the moment.
The latter mentioned that Upper Lars remains closed for trucks.
"It is still snowing in the Khachi mountain pass, it will probably continue to snow today and tomorrow, until the precipitation ends, the snow clearing works will not start on the Georgian side. The precipitation will end, the snow will be cleared, the checkpoint will be opened for truckers," Hakobyan said.
When asked how many Armenian trucks are currently waiting at the Lars checkpoint, the RA customs attaché stated that it is about 300 Armenian trucks from all sides who are waiting for their turn to pass.
