Alen Yeghishyan from Artsakh was acquitted. defender

Alen Yeghishyan from Artsakh, who was accused of evading military conscription, was acquitted by today's verdict of the Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction of the city of Yerevan, RA. Lawyer Roman Yeritsyan writes about this on his Facebook page.

"Hundreds of Artsakh citizens like Allen, who for some reason were ever registered in Armenia, now continue to be victims of illegal criminal proceedings, are unnecessarily searched and even deported from abroad to Armenia.

But even so, it should be noted that it was the government of Armenia that considered us foreigners or stateless, and a foreigner or a stateless person does not have the obligation to undergo mandatory military service in Armenia.

And since the subject of a crime against military service can only be a serviceman, and a serviceman can only be a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, therefore the criminal prosecution of any Artsakh citizen accused of military crimes is illegal."
