Successive sightings and photographs taken showed its dispersal and small tail. I sent the information to the center of minor planets, where it was officially announced about the discovery of a new comet," said Borisov.

The comet will pass the perihelion point closest to the Sun in 2025. on April 4, at a distance of about 2.3 astronomical units. According to preliminary calculations, the comet discovered by the astronomer has an elongated elliptical orbit, the period of which exceeds 3.7 thousand years.
