The US can increase its nuclear arsenal. The Wall Street Journal

The US may need to increase the number of nuclear weapons deployed around the world to benefit Washington. An American writes about thisThe Wall Street Journalnewspaper, citing officials from the current US President Joe Biden's administration.

As noted in the article, Biden's policy emphasizes the importance of developing advanced non-nuclear systems and deepening military cooperation with allies in Asia and Europe to "counter potential threats."

However, the Pentagon is also preparing options to deploy more nuclear warheads if that effort is not enough.

"If the current trends continue in a negative direction, when Russia does not say no to arms control, and China and North Korea increase their forces, there may be a need to increase the number of nuclear weapons deployed by the United States in the future," the unnamed newspaper quotes.

The WSJ writes that the nuclear weapons guidance report, which will be sent to the US Congress on Friday, "may need to adjust the current capabilities, posture, composition or size of US nuclear forces" to fight "multiple adversaries".
