More than 50 million rubles were stolen from the Ministry of Defense

The arrested general director of an enterprise for the design of special facilities and his accomplices stole more than 50 million rubles from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is investigating a criminal case against the general director of JSC 31 State Design Institute for Special Construction of the Russian Ministry of Defense Alexander Molodchenko, general director of OJSC NPP Khimmash -Start" by Evgeniy Sundukov, General Director of LLC "Elbro" Ivan Maltsev and citizen Olga Pavlova. Maltsev, Molodchenko and Pavlova were charged with committing fraud on an especially large scale as part of the execution of a state defense order (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), "the report says. According to the investigation, with April 2023 to November 2024 Molodchenko, using his official position, ensured the conclusion of two multimillion-dollar contracts between JSC "31 State Design Institute for Special Construction" of the Russian Ministry of Defense with LLC "Elbro" and OJSC NPP "Khimmash-Start" for the manufacture and supply of components for military equipment in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense at inflated prices, thereby stealing more than 50 million rubles."Molodchenko and Maltsev were chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention, and Pavlova was given house arrest. The investigation is ongoing,” the department adds.
