The “Zhoghovurd” daily writes: “Yerevan Municipality is preparing for another large-scale renovation. It is planned to begin the renovation of the “Lambada” bridge, an overpass connecting Davit Anhaght and Komitas streets, on September 10. In response to ArmLur.am’s inquiry, the Yerevan Municipality reported that the work is planned to be carried out within 110 calendar days, and the value of the contract signed with the contractor is 324 million drams.
It seems to be another necessary program for the improvement of the capital’s infrastructure. However, in the case of the Municipality headed by Tigran Avinyan, a natural question arises: did they finally complete the previous one before starting a new program? The thing is that the municipality announced the completion of the Kievan Bridge renovation work about a month ago, Nikol Pashinyan went and accepted the construction with great enthusiasm, but the bridge sidewalks are still demolished today. That is, the work can be considered completed in the reports of the municipality and the government, while the citizen sees the unfinished picture with his own eyes every day.
The cost of the Kievan Bridge renovation contract was 456 million drams. Adding the 324 million drams planned for Lambada, it is planned to spend 780 million drams from the city budget for just two bridges. And this is where the problem lies: spending hundreds of millions is not yet effective management. Effective management is when the work is not only solemnly declared completed, but is actually completed, down to the last sidewalk, overpass and section necessary for the citizen.
