President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received a delegation led by the head of the National Defense College of India, Manish Kumar Gupta. This was reported on the website of the President of the Republic of Armenia.
President Khachaturyan welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of developing friendly relations and expanding the scope of cooperation between Armenia and India.
“Your visit means that in the future we can really expand the scope of cooperation between our countries. There is no doubt about the future of friendly relations between Armenia and India. They also have a civilizational content and history. In recent years, bilateral relations have acquired a special content, and I am sure that this will continue. India is a reliable partner and has a special significance in the foreign policy activities of the Republic of Armenia,” the President said.
Manish Kumar Gupta thanked the President for the reception, the opportunity to meet, and his warm words.
During the meeting, the effective cooperation established between Armenia and India in the defense sector was highly appreciated, as well as the existing potential for expanding cooperation.
The parties also emphasized the importance of cooperation in multilateral directions, highlighting the effective cooperation established in medicine, pharmacy, artificial intelligence and high technologies, education and other sectors and the need to develop new opportunities.
They exchanged views on the importance of establishing direct air communication between Armenia and India. It was emphasized that the implementation of direct flights can create new opportunities for expanding business, tourism, educational and human ties between the two countries.
Reference was also made to the development of regional infrastructure and the importance of investing efforts in this direction. In this context, the promotion of initiatives aimed at developing regional communication, connectivity and economic cooperation was emphasized.
The meeting also touched upon the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP-17) to be held in Armenia in October. The importance of the conference in terms of overcoming global environmental challenges and consolidating international efforts to preserve biodiversity was emphasized.
President Khachaturian highlighted India's rich experience and expertise in this area and expressed hope that India, with its high-level representation at the conference, will actively contribute to its work and the discussion of agenda issues.
The parties emphasized the importance of the continuous development of warm and friendly relations between Armenia and India, deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, and expanding cooperation in new directions.
