"In the case of any nation, society mainly provides socio-cultural raw material, from which the elites create a nationally coordinated identity, worldview and code of conduct, taking exclusively the positive and leaving out the unacceptable. Then, through propaganda in a broad sense, this developed worldview returns to that same society and begins to transform it.
In my humble opinion, one of the reasons for our current sad reality is that the elites do not act as developers of the said raw material, but strive to consider this very raw material not only as a ready-made, but also as an exemplary result and adapt themselves to it.
This is not only a sign of the actual creative sterility and weakness of the elites, but also a source of primitive mob-likeness, or rather, "this is what the people want."
