Epidemiological studies and preventive measures are ongoing in relation to cases of intestinal infections recorded in Byureghavan community since July 17, 2026. This is reported by the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the RA Ministry of Health.
"Laboratory tests of drinking water and biological samples were carried out within the framework of epidemiological research.
At the moment, no new cases of the disease have been reported. 2 of the patients continue to receive treatment in the hospital, their health condition is assessed as satisfactory, and the others have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
As a result of laboratory tests of drinking water, total coliform bacteria were found in 2 of the repeated samples. The residents of the mentioned 2 addresses have been informed, and other residents of Byureghavan enlarged community can use tap water.
Total coliforms are opportunistic pathogens and indicate potential contamination of drinking water. Their presence can contribute to intestinal infectious diseases.
The HCMC continues monitoring and implementing the necessary preventive measures in order to protect the health of the population and prevent possible new cases," the message says.
