All the events of the last days, the increase in the number of political prisoners in Armenia, of course, did not go unnoticed. The society is multi-layered and also heterogeneous, naturally, the responses are different. But within this heterogeneity three main layers or groups can be distinguished.
In the first group are the people, individuals and also organizations that raise their voice of protest in connection with the happening injustices, simply unacceptable phenomena, or simply express their support to the compatriots persecuted for obvious political reasons. More than a hundred public figures expressed their support for the PAP leader, political prisoner Gagik Tsarukyan. More than 300 women expressed support for political prisoner Aregnaz Manukyan, a member of the board of the "Mother Armenia" party.
Before that, many people and intellectuals expressed their support for the other political prisoners, RPA Vice President Armen Ashotyan, Hayakve coordinator Avetik Chalabyan. And so on, and so on, unfortunately, the list is very long. By the way, the imperative to form a Committee for the Protection of Political Prisoners or a similar structure has been ripe for a long time, and it is welcome that "the cart has moved", and today the start of the activity of the relevant committee will be announced. Let's hope that the members of the forming commission will not be imprisoned either. But returning to what was said, let's note that our compatriots, separated into the first group, who are actively reacting, express their protest against the government's actions and support the persecuted, of course, they perfectly understand that the government of the day does not care about public opinion at all. However, they understand that it is not right to remain silent, moreover, they cannot remain silent, and they remain at their civil height.
It is also possible that in this way, maybe some messages will reach the "international community" that is pretending to be deaf and blind and has buried its head in the sand...Therefore, among those who are active, there are people who may not agree with their compatriots who are now political prisoners on other issues, have ideological or perceptual differences, but they do not remain silent. Today, when these people are in trouble. It is not for nothing that it is said that a true friend is revealed at the moment of trial. The second group that stands out clearly are the people whom today's persecuted, political prisoners directly helped, did good, supported in this or that matter. But here and there, there are many of those "beneficiaries" who do not reveal their secrets today. In general. We think this is a question of human nature, individual characteristics.
Maybe they are grateful, so to speak, grudging, maybe they are just afraid that if they suddenly say something, they will be arrested immediately, they don't want to "put their heads in pain". In short, whatever you say, you can assume, say. But on the other hand, "those lovers of silence", figuratively speaking, do not need to "buzz". That public shame, public rebuke, or "why don't you say something, why don't you raise your voice..." is unnecessary, especially in the direction of athletes and "grant animal lovers". How many pennies is it worth if someone is going to speak up or "sound off" after a comment? Everyone answers with his own conscience and before his own conscience, if he has one, of course. The "voice-maker" will express himself, he does not need to "buzz" specifically.
And if he doesn't express himself, then it's his choice, and others follow it, understanding who is who. And finally, there is a third group, whose presence is more painful, and those included in it are more dangerous than those who take water in their mouths. We are talking about Facebook "algae" who have become "famous" in the social media environment or are completely unknown, often even without any pictures, swaying under the waves of government propaganda. About those who voice, echo and spread the "theses" and "wills" of Pashinyan's aggressive propaganda. Many of you must have seen such "flashings" or "take, take, imprison...". They even make direct calls for physical reprisals and self-judgment. There are real and at least pitiable "users" in those murky "waters" who probably think that "this is it, they will take it away and give it to me." They think that their lives will change, they will live like sheikhs.
Nothing of the sort will happen, of course. In the assembly, such "joy" of such persons will last until the moment when the same authorities, the same policemen, already with the fingerprint of his neighbor, will come to take away the garage or the garden from him. Official encroachments against private property mean that in such a country everyone is deprived of rights without discrimination. And here an inevitable, "discretionary" question arises from the above. well, why don't we like accomplished, successful, including rich people? After all, a person has created for years, turned one into two, made efforts, and thanks to all that, thousands of people have jobs and stable income.
But why only wealth? In Armenia, in general, there are many people who cannot stand individuals who have achieved success, whether they are athletes, musicians, businessmen or scientists. the envy of those who don't love, the lack of satisfaction, also being under aggressive propaganda "wills". Well, the roots of such a hostile attitude towards rich, wealthy people can reach back to the Soviet past, and some circumstances of the recent past may have had their influence. Maybe those who don't like all successful people see them as different, "challenging" the public, standing out from the gray mass, and therefore an opponent subject to "leveling". But the main thing, we think, is envy and malice. Such things exist in all societies (probably). But first, we are interested in our community, because... it is ours, and secondly, in our case, that envy and malice are too much, according to which it is multiplied by the government's systematic propaganda and "handouts". Moreover, if a person achieves a result (let's say, is admitted to a university), there are definitely "close people" who explain it with some sponsors, "luck", "bribery", you don't know what else. Zero talk about the fact that a person worked, made an effort, struggled, set a goal and achieved it. If someone in our society achieves success, he becomes the "thorn in the eye" of many people, many people begin to think not that he was able, I will be able too, but on the contrary, as if he was able, let's do everything to make it bad for him. But it is, by and large, a quagmire. And in the swamp, it's not good for anyone...
