On Saturday evening, protests against the government took place in a number of cities in Israel. The demonstrators were protesting against the policies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to the Haaretz newspaper, the participants of the traditional Saturday protest in Tel Aviv, who were mostly supporters of the left-wing political forces, this time celebrated the victory of the local opposition leader Peter Magyar in the Hungarian parliamentary elections over Viktor Orbán, who was Netanyahu's main ally in Europe for a long time.
About 250 people marched from the Hungarian embassy to the square in front of the Habima Theater in downtown Tel Aviv, where the main anti-government rally took place, attended by about 2,000 protesters.
Protests against the Israeli government took place in several other cities of the country, including Beer Sheva, Jerusalem and Haifa. In Jerusalem, according to the press service of the Israel Police, the protest ended in clashes between the demonstrators and the police, as a result of which two people were arrested for violating public order.
