Changes and additions have been made in the procedure of admission to RA state and non-state universities according to bachelor's and continuous and integrated educational programs.
The draft decision "On Amendments and Additions to the Decision No. 597-N of the Government of the Republic of Armenia of April 27, 2012" was approved at the session of the Government of the Republic of Armenia on April 18.
The changes and additions are due to the need for the current regulation of the university admission process, taking into account that the state standard of general education has been revised, new qualitative requirements for graduates of the secondary education program have been defined, new subject programs, curricula, textbooks and other educational materials related to the content of the educational process have been developed and approved.
Reasonable accommodations in the entrance examination process for persons with special educational needs
A new clause is added to the university admissions procedure, according to which, within 10 days after the end of the application periods for the relevant stages of admission, applicants who need special educational conditions or their legal representatives apply to the State Administrative Court, submit relevant documents certifying the need for special educational conditions, medical certificates, in order to ensure reasonable adjustments during the entrance exams. These include alternative means of oral and written communication, personal technical aids, sign language interpreters, etc.
Until the 2029-2030 academic year, there will be no changes to the organization of admission
The decision stipulates that the admission for the 2026-2027, 2027-2028, 2028-2029 academic years will be organized by the Ararat baccalaureate exams, as it was organized in the previous academic years.
Already from the 2029-2030 academic year, according to the Law "On Higher Education and Science", the organization of the admission competition will be reserved for universities.
The concept of "repositories" is replaced
According to the above procedure, the joint entrance exams are organized with subject programs approved by KGSMS, guaranteed textbooks for mandatory use in public educational institutions, databases. My blogs are no longer published and are not used as a source of preparation tasks and tests for university entrance exams.
Therefore, in the process of organizing joint exams, in order to ensure the compliance of exam materials with the subject programs defined by the new standard and the taught educational material, this decision establishes the general concept of "other educational materials related to the content of the educational process" instead of the concept of "databases". It also includes relevant modules guaranteed to be used in public schools as basic learning resources.
Change of the deadline in the first round of admission
It was clarified that the applicant who submitted an application in the first round of admission can make changes or refuse the application until December 25.
The first round of admission covers the period from December 15-25.
In addition, the decision made a number of other technical changes.
The decision derives from the 2050 Armenia transformation strategy, RA education until 2030. from the state development program, as well as the RA government's 2021-2026. from the strategic goals of revising the principles and mechanisms of admission to higher educational institutions aimed at the reform of the higher education sector defined by the program.
