Apart from Russia, Karabakh had another guarantor, the Republic of Armenia, and Armenia was the first to renounce its function and blames Russia. The second president of RA, Robert Kocharyan, said this during the "Great Politics" podcast.
"Armenia nullified Russia's role as a mediator. Russia had 2 functions. one was a mediator in that conflict, the other became a guarantor after stopping the war, when Armenia pulled itself out of that format and collapsed the whole construction," Kocharyan noted.
