Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi congratulated Mojtaba Khamenei on his election as Supreme Leader of Iran and pledged loyalty to the new leader on behalf of all the country's diplomatic corps.
The message of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran was published on the official website of the Ministry. The message states that the election of a new Supreme Leader, "in the dangerous situation created for the country, guarantees the preservation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as strengthens national unity."
On behalf of himself and all the diplomats of the Islamic Republic, Araghchi "assured the loyalty of the country's third Supreme Leader and promised not to give up for a second the protection of the rights of the Iranian people and the advancement of Iran's national interests in the international arena."
