Iranian authorities have decided to postpone the farewell ceremony of late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the head of Tehran's Islamic Propaganda Coordinating Council, Mohsen Mahmoudi, announced.
"This event is postponed. I hope that at the first opportunity, as soon as the conditions allow, the coordinating council will make an appropriate statement, calling for the farewell ceremony," he said on Iranian television. He said the delay was due to the need to prepare the "infrastructure" for the ceremony due to the "huge demand" for participation from all over the country.
Meanwhile, Tehran continues to be attacked, but this has not been cited as a reason for the delay.
