The U.S. Department of Defense this week began the first phase of testing low-cost kamikaze drones as part of a new initiative to expand their use in the U.S. military, Army Times reported.
In early February, it was announced that the Pentagon plans to assemble a significant arsenal of several hundred thousand kamikaze drones by 2027. According to the ministry's statement obtained by RIA Novosti, 25 specialized companies, including two Ukrainian manufacturers, General Cherry and Ukrainian Defense Drone Tech, have been engaged in the testing of unmanned systems within the framework of this strategy.
"The US Department of Defense began testing this week as part of the initial phase of its Drone Dominance Program, an initiative aimed at expanding the use of commercial drones across all branches of the military," the publication wrote.
