The United States is considering the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his son, Axios reported on February 20, citing sources.
According to the source, the US administration is "ready to discuss a proposal that will allow Iran to "symbolically" enrich uranium, if this deprives it of the ability to produce a bomb."
Thus, Axios notes that there is a modest possibility of reaching an agreement between Washington and Tehran.
"At the same time, US President Donald Trump has been offered military options, including a direct assassination attempt against the Supreme Leader," the media reported, adding that such an option would also include "the elimination of Khamenei's son, who is considered his possible successor."
The sources of the media emphasize that no final decision has been made yet regarding further US actions against Iran.
