Israel is preparing for a military operation with the United States against Iran, the targets of which may be ballistic missile sites, nuclear facilities and the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, an elite unit of the Iranian Armed Forces).
This was reported by The New York Times (NYT), referring to Israeli military officials. According to them, the United States and Israel plan to launch a "serious strike" within days to "force Iran to make concessions at the negotiating table" on the nuclear issue, which Tehran has so far allegedly refused.
US military deployments in the Middle East, according to the newspaper, allow striking "a wide range of Iranian facilities, including short- and medium-range missile sites, ammunition depots, nuclear facilities and other military facilities, such as the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps."
According to the American sources of the newspaper, the final choice of the targets of the action depends on the US President Donald Trump.
