Washington considers preventing the spread of nuclear weapons in the Middle East a priority, as Tehran's acquisition of a nuclear bomb would lead to an uncontrolled arms race in the region.
This was announced by US Vice President J.D. Vance in an interview with Fox News. “The United States has certain red lines. Our main interest here is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. We do not want nuclear proliferation.
If Iran acquires nuclear weapons, many other regimes, some friendly and some not so friendly, will want to acquire nuclear weapons after them.
It will be a disaster for the American people," Vance said.
