US President Donald Trump plans to make a final decision on the permissibility of a military approach to Iran in the coming weeks. the outcome will depend on the success of the negotiations, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina told Axios.
He noted that Washington expects a quick result from the current negotiations and is not ready to wait "months" for positive results. Graham said he came to this conclusion after a conversation with Trump over the weekend.
He added that the White House is currently trying to secure concessions through consultations while continuing to increase military pressure on Tehran.
"Much will depend on what Iran will do," the senator added. The new round of Iran-US negotiations on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program is planned to be held on February 17 in Geneva, with the mediation of Oman.
