The Hungarian government reaffirms its readiness to contribute to the peaceful settlement in Ukraine and, if necessary, to organize a meeting between the presidents of the USA and Russia in Budapest. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijártó, during the meeting with the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday.
He noted that the solution to the Ukrainian conflict is one of the main topics of discussion with the head of American diplomacy, who will also meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
"We will support American peace efforts in every possible way," the foreign minister assured on Facebook.
"We are the only one in the European Union that has not supplied weapons to Ukraine, we are the only one that has kept diplomatic channels open with Russia, and we are the only one that is ready to hold a peace summit," Siyarto stated.
