California Governor Gavin Newsom advised Denmark to "sleep with one eye open" in the face of US President Donald Trump's claims to Greenland. Answering the question of the Danish TV2 channel, whether Trump's threats to occupy Greenland should be considered finished, the politician gave a negative answer.
"Sleep with one eye open," Newsome added. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark. However, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that the island should become part of the United States.
The authorities of Denmark and Greenland have warned Washington against the occupation of the island, stating that they expect their territorial integrity to be respected.
