For the first time in 88 years, the American polling service Gallup will not measure the approval rating of the US president. The Hill newspaper reports about it.
According to the newspaper, the company will stop publishing approval ratings of "individual politicians," which "reflects the evolution of Gallup's approach to public research and thought leadership."
When asked by the newspaper whether the polling service received any instructions from the White House, a representative of Gallup replied that "this is a strategic move based solely on the company's research goals and priorities."
According to the latest public opinion poll conducted by Gallup in December 2025, the approval rating of US President Donald Trump's policies has fallen to 36%, which is the lowest figure during his second term. At the beginning of the term, in January 2025, Trump's approval rating was 47%.
