Poland refused to join the "Peace Council" initiated by US President Donald Trump. This was announced by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk before the government meeting. "Under the current conditions, taking into account the principles, status and immediate goals of the Council, which are related to the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, Poland will not join the work of the Peace Council," Tusk said. The live broadcast of his speech was carried out by the TVP Info channel.
At the same time, Tusk emphasized that the authorities of the republic will continue to analyze the situation around the Peace Council and do not rule out the possibility of joining its work if the circumstances change. The Prime Minister of Poland also announced that the country's embassy in Washington received an invitation addressed to the President of the Republic, Karol Nawrocki, to participate in the first meeting of the leaders of the Peace Council, scheduled for February 19.
"If President Karol Navrotsky, as a witness, decides to participate in the meeting to be held in the USA on February 19, he will of course receive a full package of documents from the government regarding the actions," added Tusk.
