Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received the Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergey Naryshkin in Cairo, TASS agency reports.
The Egyptian President conveyed his greetings and deep gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his contribution to the development of relations between Cairo and Moscow.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed regional and global developments and agreed on "the need to strengthen Russian-Egyptian cooperation in order to prevent new escalation of tensions in the Middle East."
