Great Britain has sent six F-35 fighter jets to the Akrotian air force base in Cyprus amid tensions over Iran, reports the British Times newspaper.
"The UK has deployed the fighter jets to Akrot air base in Cyprus to bolster security amid concerns that the US could strike Iran and draw the region into a wider conflict. "On Friday, six F-35B fighter jets took off from Marham Air Force Base," the publication noted.
The newspaper also notes that there are already permanently deployed Typhoon fighters at the base.
