Reuters: The US and Kiev are discussing holding elections in Ukraine in May

Washington and Kiev are discussing the possibility of holding a referendum on the general elections in Ukraine in May, as well as on the possible arrangements for the settlement of the conflict. This was reported by the Reuters agency, referring to its sources.

As specified in the publication, "according to the plan discussed by the negotiators of the USA and Ukraine, any settlement deal will be submitted to a referendum."

It is assumed that "general elections" will be held in Ukraine during the same period.

According to the agency, during the negotiations held in Abu Dhabi, the special envoy of the US president, Steven Wittkoff, and the son-in-law of the American leader, Jared Kushner, told the Ukrainian side that "the best option would be if the elections were held as soon as possible."
