According to the newspaper, the member of the European Commission, Marosh Sefcovic, plans to visit London next week for the purpose of negotiations, during which trade and energy issues will be discussed. According to the newspaper's sources, Great Britain is interested in resuming the negotiations on the defense sector as soon as possible.
It is noted that in November 2025, the Politico publication reported that Great Britain and the European Union failed to reach an agreement on the terms of London's participation in the EU's SAFE credit instrument, which is intended for the development of the defense industry, within the specified period.
