US President Donald Trump made a personal request to Russian President Vladimir Putin to refrain from strikes on Kiev for a week, until February 1, said Dmitry Peskov, the press spokesman of the Russian President.

"I can say that President Trump personally appealed to President Putin to refrain from strikes on Kiev for a week until February 1, in order to create favorable conditions for negotiations," Peskov told reporters.

Earlier, Trump said that he personally appealed to Vladimir Putin, asking him not to attack Kiev.
