The EU imposed sanctions on Iran's Interior Minister and Prosecutor General

The European Union expanded the list of sanctions against Iran to include Interior Minister Eskander Momeni and Prosecutor General Mohammad Movahedi-Azad. This information was published in the updated version of the list of sanctions in the Official Journal of the EU.

"Eskander Momeni and Mohammad Movahedi-Azad", the website states.

On January 29, EU countries agreed to impose new sanctions on Iran, targeting individuals and organizations responsible for cracking down on protests. EU foreign ministers also decided to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, putting it on par with groups such as the Islamic State and al-Qaeda.
