Today, Europe and India are making history. Von der Leyen

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called the free trade agreement with India "historic." Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that India and the European Union have reached full agreement on a bilateral free trade agreement that will cover 25 percent of global GDP and a third of world trade.

"Today, Europe and India are making history. We have signed a big agreement.

We have created a free trade zone for two billion people that will benefit both sides. This is just the beginning. We will develop our strategic relations to further strengthen them," von der Leyen wrote on social networks.
