Washington administration officials will present new proposals to US President Donald Trump this week on the possible use of military force against Iran, Axios reports. Earlier this month, Trump "came close to ordering strikes on Iranian territory" in response to protests in the country, his sources said.
Instead, he postponed the decision while simultaneously deploying military forces in the region, the portal explains.
"White House officials say that the possibility of strikes is still being discussed, although the protests in Iran have largely been suppressed," the publication states.
Sources of the portal noted that Trump has not yet made a final decision regarding the possibility of striking Iran.
