Modi hails 'growing strength of partnership' between India and EU

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expects that the visit of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa to the republic will contribute to the deepening of cooperation in various fields. He wrote about this on his X social network page, commenting on their participation in the country's Republic Day military parade.

"It is a great honor for India to receive the President of the European Council, Antonio Košta, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, during the Republic Day celebration. Their presence underscores the growing strength of the partnership between India and the European Union and our commitment to shared values. This visit will give an additional impetus to the deepening of cooperation and interaction between India and Europe in various fields," Modi wrote.

On January 27, the representatives of the European Union, who arrived in India, will form co-chairs at the 16th EU-India Summit. The agenda of the summit includes discussion of the conflict in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East, sustainable development, use of leading technologies and innovations, as well as discussion of partnership issues in the fields of security and defense.
