The Extreme Missions Unit of the Indian Army has created a record for the largest scale in the world by conquering Everest (8848.86 m) in one day, reports The Himalayan Times.
According to the publication, a group of 22 army mountaineers with the support of 27 mountain skiers-Sherpers conquered the world's highest mountain on May 27 last year on the route of the South Corridor (7906 m) in stable weather conditions.
According to Seven Summit Treks, the company that organized the mission, the conquest of Jomolungma was the result of "sophisticated planning, staged acclimatization and coordinated movement between camps to ensure safety and efficiency during a narrow weather window".
The record was set in the year of the 25th anniversary of the conquest of Everest by Indian military climbers and is a testament to the long-standing cooperation between Nepal and India in the field of Himalayan mountaineering. The mission was completed without serious accidents, the organizers informed.
