Elon Musk has urged people not to use ChatGPT amid reports of suicides

Elon Musk, the owner of the X social network, has urged users to keep their loved ones away from ChatGPT in connection with the publication of suicides after interacting with the chatbot.

An anonymous account on X published a post stating that there are currently nine known deaths related to the use of ChatGPT, five of which were suicides.

"Don't let your loved ones use ChatGPT," Musk wrote, republishing that post.

Earlier, several lawsuits were filed against OpenAI, accusing it of causing suicide. the popular chatbot development company came under pressure amid suicides related to the use of ChatGPT.

At the end of August, the Wall Street Journal wrote that ChatGPT prompted a paranoid ex-Yahoo employee to kill his mother and commit suicide by convincing him of his own mental health. According to the publication, this is the first documented murder committed by a mentally unstable person by artificial intelligence.
