Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that he had a productive telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, during which he discussed the situation in Syria.
"I had a telephone conversation with Trump. It was a productive conversation. We discussed many important issues that will contribute to the security of Syria, including the joint fight against ISIS," Erdogan said during his speech in the parliament.
He also expressed hope that "with the implementation of the agreement (between the Kurdish coalition "Syrian Democratic Forces", SDF and Damascus), other areas under the control of the SDF organization and the civilian population living there will be freed as soon as possible, and thus a unified Syria will be built."
